  1. Introduction

Greenblade Growers Limited, incorporated in November 2015, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Centum Investment Company PLC. The Company made its initial investment by acquiring 120 acres of agricultural arable land in Tumaini, Nyandarua County. In addition, the business has made significant capital investments which includes the construction and completion of production infrastructure works, the construction of 29,000 cubic meter capacity water reservoir, installation of a drip irrigation system, construction of 15 acres of greenhouse and the construction of a 6tons per day capacity pack-house on the Tumaini farm.

Greenslade’s primary focus is in the growing, processing and export of fresh herbs and vegetables to customers based in Europe with key products for export being chives, dill, mint, tarragon, parsley, lemon grass, wild rocket, rosemary and coriander. The business made its first export sale to Europe in December 2016. In the current Financial Year, key focus for the business will be on scaling up its operations and processing capacity by improving farm production and developing an efficient and robust out-grower scheme.

Greenblade Growers Limited has created employment for 20 permanent employees and approximately 170 casual employees.

  1. Scope of work

Greenblade Growers Limited desires to engage a Consultant to provide the following Resources under an outsourcing agreement:

The assignment is seeking a well-established consultancy firm to support the HR Processes as follows;

  • Support in the formulation and updating of all policies and procedures and the business on the implementation of the same.
  • Manage the payroll of casual employees including pay computations, generation of payroll reports, payment distribution to employees and remittance of all statutory deductions, generation and distribution of pay-slips to employees, payments and filings of tax returns, company and employee registration with tax and statutory authorities.
  • Offer Recruitment Services on demand and in line with our Recruitment Policy and Procedures and offer contracts.
  • Review and compose staff and administrative job descriptions
  • Ensure that the business conforms and complies  with the  changing employment Regulations.
  • Ensure that the outsourced staff are managed within the stipulated legislations.
  • Ensure proper record keeping and all related documentation. This includes but not limited to leave management records, performance records, disciplinary records and statutory documents.
  • Support the performance reviews and offer continuous support in setting KPIs, assessing progress and providing feedback to ensure that your employees are meeting their targets.
  1. Project Timelines

The project timelines have been highlighted as follows;

  • 26th April – 3rd May 2018: Receipt of the proposals from Consultants
  • 4rd May- 7th May 2018: Review of the received proposals
  • 8th May 2018: Communication to the Consultants on the feedback from the review process
  • 11th May 2018: Finalize contracting of the selected Consultant

  • Previous experiences in similar engagements
  • Achievements and fees charged
  • At least 3 references from previous clients
  • Financial proposal

  1. Limitation of Liability

This request is only an invitation for proposal and no contractual obligation on behalf of Greenblade Growers Ltd and its affiliates whatsoever shall arise from this process unless and until a formal contract is signed between Greenblade Growers Ltd and the preferred Consultant. This request does not commit Greenblade Growers Ltd to pay any cost incurred in the preparation or submission of any proposal or to procure or contract for any services.

  1. Proposal Management

Greenblade Growers  Ltd reserves the right to accept or reject any and all proposals, to revise this Request for Proposals, to request one or more re-submissions or clarification from one or more consultants, or to cancel the process in part or in whole. Greenblade Growers Ltd will, at its discretion, award the contract to the Consultant submitting the best proposal that complies with our requirements.

  1. Confidentiality

The Consultant shall protect Confidential Information of the Company through the exercise of precautions to be set out in a Non-Disclosure Agreement to be executed by the Consultant and the Company. The Consultant shall exercise no less protection and care than it customarily uses in preserving and safeguarding its own Confidential Information.
