Centum Investment Company Limited continues to be recognized internationally for excellence and its outstanding business performance. Centum has won 3 separate investment awards in the past few weeks. These include The Capital Finance International Best Private Equity Team East Africa 2015, the Acquisition International 2015 Mergers and Acquisitions Awards’ Most Trusted Financial Management Firm of the Year- Kenya and the Finance Monthly’s CEO award for 2015.

Capital Finance International recognized Centum Capital, the private equity arm of Centum, as The Best Private Equity Team- East Africa 2015. The judges attributed the award to a sensible investment strategy a great ability to identify inaccessible opportunities, meticulous implementation of investment policies and consistently delivering market beating returns. In a report on Centum, judges noted the confidence the public had in Centum as seen when its 5 year bond issue was oversubscribed by 38%. Judges praised Centum’s role in helping outside investors find inaccessible opportunities within the continent by leveraging its knowledge and expertise in local markets.

The company was also recognized by the Acquisition International 2015 Mergers and Acquisitions Awards. Centum won The Most Trusted Financial Management Firm of the Year- Kenya. The Acquisition International 2015 M & A Awards celebrate skill, dedication & outstanding results from individuals, teams and firms across the corporate world. They recognize efforts and achievements of people involved in identifying, coordinating and seeing deals through to the end.  Acquisitions International is a global corporate finance magazine with subscribers in more than 170 countries.

The Financial Monthly also recognized Centum Group CEO, Mr. James Mworia who was feted with the Finance Monthly CEO award for 2015. The award recognizes business leaders’ achievements in growing revenues, turning around business, successful mergers and acquisitions integration as well as driving the development of new products and business models. Mr. Mworia was recognized specifically for his role in Centum’s acquisition of a controlling stake in K-rep Bank. “Our acquisition of a controlling stake in K-rep Bank was in line with our strategy to increase our presence in the Financial Services sector,” Mr. James Mworia explained as he spoke about the awards. “We intend to work with the bank’s management and board to deliver innovative financial services in order to create a robust banking experience with the end goal of improving value for all stakeholders. We intend to reposition the bank by revamping its strategy and helping it become a robust tier two bank.” The Financial Monthly carried out a rigorous survey of investors, analysts, executives, and media professionals from across the globe to determine winners of the awards.
